I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

-We congratulate our European friends' Christmas. As we know, every new beginnings give us a chance to make a better World and to build a multicultural life style in peace. We are all in the same ship. That's why we have to be more careful during our journey. My students give a message to the global society that we can tolerance different cultures and find a way to live together.

Recycle and Use It

NNowadays, we are focusing on protecting our environment and producing new materials using waste ones. We have done the first work-shop with my 7th grade students. They have created some tools which can be used in our daily life. Next time, we are going to build recycle bins for our school. If we call the municipality's and some other non-profit organization's attention to our studies, then we will be able to have a chance to generalize our works for Incekum and even Alanya and Antalya in the near future.

Why don't we do anything yet?

The Earth is going worse since we don't want to hear the warnings about the end. What people are doing is nothing to keep the environment clean. We have been consuming the natural sources without weighing the absolute consequences. If it goes this undesired way, we are going to lose the last chance to leave a healthy environment to the next generations. My pupils want to call our attention to the above mentioned facts. They have prepared posters about kinds of pollution, preventing it and what to do to save the earth. Next time, we will go to the Incekum Beach and make a general cleaning with my students. These works will be the main theme of our Comenius Project which mainly focus on ecology and recycle.

The Future Partnership

As İncekum Öztaş Primary School, we have welcomed three teachers from Germany in Tuesday. Our guests has brought a proposal about a ready Comenius Project which aims to create an awareness to save our environment via recycled materials and cleaning. The project which is planned to start in 2010, requires a 2-year partnership and there are two more partners from Czech Rep. and Slovakia. That is we will be four partner schools in the project. The National Education Office Head of Alanya is also very eager to see us doing the processes and of course we are so excited to have such a chance to improve our students' awareness and personality that we can create new materials without destroying the nature and next generations, preying us, can live in a better World. BEING INTERNATIONAL...

Incekum Öztaş Primary School has had its new website. This is the first important news I could share with you. The school is itself so sucessfull in sports that it is number one in athletics in Antalya. This may be an idea to start a new project with our European partners. This year will be the starting for international partnerships all around Europe and as it is our aim, we work hard on it especially with e mails, pen friendships, ICT, e-twinning and student and teacher exchanges. Since one can not learn a foreign language just by sitting and fed by grammar only, we all work to improve especially students' communication skills in target language by a number of activities and try to introduce different cultures and life styles in order to make them avoid their prejudice about others.
